About Hrauntangi
Rústir eyðibýlisins Hrauntanga á Öxarfjarðarheiði. Friðlýstar fornminjar sem þinglýst var árið 1976 (1). Hrauntangi var síðast býla á Öxarfjarðarheiði og fór í eyði árið 1943. Þar átti sagnaskáldið Guðmundur Magnússon (Jón Trausti) heima nokkur ár í bernsku og einnig er þaðan sögusvið Höllu og heiðarbýlisins tilkomið (2). „Staður með ríka sögulega tengingu og í næsta nágrenni við náttúruperluna Kvíaborgir og Rauðhóla“ (3).
