Síðla á heitum sumardögum beljar leysingavatn ofan jökulinn og myndar stórt fljót sem fellur fram sandinn austan við Urðarháls og kallast Síðdegisflæður“ (1). Á árinu 2014 hafa miklar jarðhræringar verið á svæðinu við Dyngjujökul og langvarandi eldgos í Holuhrauni (2).
