The Westfjords Heritage Museum (Byggðasafn Vestfjarða) in Ísafjörður occupies four of Iceland's oldest wooden buildings, some dating to the late 17th century. The star exhibit is a full-size replica of an 18th-century fishing ship. The building complex itself is an architectural treasure, surrounded by the colourful 19th-century townscape of old Ísafjörður.
