The viewpoint is located along Route 36 on the eastern edge of Þingvellir National Park. There are several pull-offs with parking and viewing platforms. From here you can see: - The full expanse of Þingvallavatn lake - The rift valley where the tectonic plates separate - Surrounding volcanic mountains - Þingvellir's historic assembly site The viewpoint is accessible year-round and offers some of the best panoramic views in the Golden Circle area.

Þingvallavatn is not only Iceland's largest lake but also one of its deepest, reaching over 100 metres in places. The lake sits in a tectonic rift valley, surrounded by volcanic mountains. It's also one of Iceland's premier fishing lakes, home to Arctic char and brown trout.
