From the saga: "Jöður hét maður er bjó á bæ þeim er heitir á Skeljabrekku. (2) Jöður segir: „Þú munt vilja lána mér hestinn heim til Skeljabrekku.“ (3) Og er hann kom suður yfir Hvítá þá lagði hann leið sína til Skeljabrekku. (3) Þorgeir kom til Skeljabrekku síð um aftan og er hann kom á bæinn þá voru dyr aftur loknar og menn nýkomnir í stofu frá eldi. (3) Þorgeir segir: „Áverki nokkur gerðist í kveld að Skeljabrekku.“"
