From the saga: "Hann reisti bæ við fjörðinn er hann kallaði Saurbæ. (11) Síðan reið Búi leið sína og er hann kom inn fyrir Blikdalsá fann hann þar smalamann úr Saurbæ. (11) Eftir það fóru þeir bræður heim í Saurbæ og undu illa sinni ferð. (17) Hafði Helgi land í Saurbæ en Vakur gerðist kaupmaður og þótti vera hinn vaskasti. (17) Tók hann við landi í Saurbæ en Helgi tók þá Hofsland af Búa."
