About Landakotskirkja (Catholic Cathedral of Iceland)
Landakotskirkja, the Cathedral of Christ the King, is Iceland's Catholic cathedral and the centre of the small Catholic community in this predominantly Lutheran country. Built in 1929 in a clean Gothic style, it stands in the Landakot neighbourhood west of the city centre. The surrounding grounds include a school and garden. The interior is simple and serene, a quiet contrast to the more famous Hallgrímskirkja nearby.
