📖 Story
Krauma opened in 2017 using water from Deildartunguhver, which pumps out scalding 100°C water at 180 liters per second. The spa cools this extreme heat to bathing temperature (~38-41°C) and mixes it with glacial meltwater for the cold plunge pool (5-8°C). The facilities are modern and beautiful — minimalist Icelandic design. Five hot pools of varying temperature, steam rooms, and a relaxation area with views. It's less touristy than Blue Lagoon but more upscale than local pools. Restaurant on-site. Popular with locals and tourists seeking quality thermal experience in West Iceland.
