From the saga: "Þar var fyrir sunnan ána Illugi svarti, Kleppjárn hinn gamli, Þorsteinn Gíslason, Gunnlaugur ormstunga, Þorsteinn Þorgilsson úr Hafsfjarðarey. (56) Um vorið eftir fundust þeir á Þórsnessþingi, Snorri goði og Þorsteinn úr Hafsfjarðarey, mágur Illuga svarta. (56) Þorsteinn úr Hafsfjarðarey geymdi eigi annars en sækja þar að sem fyrir var Snorri goði. (56) Þetta sumar tók Þorsteinn úr Hafsfjarðarey Rauðmelingagoðorð úr Þórsnessþingi því að hann þóttist þar aflvani orðið hafa fyrir Snorrungum."
