From the saga: "Síðan lét Skalla-Grímur gera bæ uppi við fjallið og átti þar bú; lét þar varðveita sauðfé sitt; það bú varðveitti Grís, og er við hann kennd Grísartunga. (86) Þorsteinn lét gera garð um þvera Grísartungu milli Langavatns og Gljúfurár, lét hann þar að vera marga menn um vorið."
