About Gæsavötn
Tvö grunn vötn eða tjarnir í 920 - 940 m y.s. ásamt gróðurbletti umhverfis þau. Skammt fyrir ofan vötnin, í og við hraunbrún, koma upp lindir, 7 - 8 °C heitar. Umhverfis þær er gróður óvenju þróttmikill....Beint upp af Gæsavötnum er kollóttur hnjúkur, Gæsahnjúkur. Baldur Sigurðsson reisti skála við Gæsavötn 1973 og nýtti í tengslum við ferðaþjónustu. Félag var síðar var stofnað sem tók að sér rekstur skálans, Gæsavatnafélagið, og reisti það nýjan skála 1997.
