📖 Story

Fontana opened in 2011 and quickly became a popular stop on the Golden Circle. The spa uses geothermal heat from underground hot springs, and guests can take a traditional Icelandic plunge into the cold lake after warming up in the hot pools. The spa also offers a demonstration of traditional rye bread baking — dough is buried in the hot sand overnight and dug up in the morning, perfectly baked.
