Eldborg Volcanic Crater
About Eldborg Volcanic Crater
Eldborg is a beautifully symmetrical scoria crater rising 60 metres above the Hnappadalur valley in West Iceland, formed in a volcanic eruption about 5,000–6,000 years ago. A 3 km trail leads to the rim where you can see the perfectly circular interior. The view across the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is stunning.
