About Dynjandi Waterfall (Fjallfoss)
Dynjandi (also called Fjallfoss) is Iceland's most iconic waterfall in the Westfjords — a series of seven waterfalls cascading down a mountain in a shape often described as a bridal veil. The main upper fall spreads from 7 metres wide at the top to 60 metres wide at the base as it drops 100 metres. The lower six smaller falls are individually named. A path runs alongside all seven falls. Dynjandi (meaning 'thunderous') is protected as part of the Westfjords Nature Reserve and admission is free.
