Djúpalónssandur — Black Pebble Beach
About Djúpalónssandur — Black Pebble Beach
Djúpalónssandur is a dramatic black pebble beach in Snæfellsjökull National Park, where the rusting wreck of a British trawler from 1948 lies scattered among the lava rocks. Four lifting stones (Lifting Stones of Djúpalón) were historically used to test the strength of fishermen before they could join a crew.
