📖 Story
Brúarfoss means 'bridge waterfall' but it's known for color, not bridges. The glacial river carries minerals that turn the water an unnatural, electric blue-green. The falls aren't tall but wide, braiding through black lava rock in mesmerizing patterns. Until recently you could drive close, but landowner disputes closed road access. Now a 7 km hike from Route 37 keeps crowds smaller. The reward is one of Iceland's bluest waterfalls, almost tropical in color despite the Arctic setting.
