From the saga: "Þorgeir gyrðilskeggi og Sigurður Torfafóstri fluttu vatn frá Bláskeggsá við tólfta mann og fylltu selabátinn af vatni og helltu í ker það er var út í Hólmi. (33) Þær eru nú kallaðar Bláskeggsár. (38) Það verður nú hennar ráð að hún kastar sér til sunds og leggst til lands úr hólminum um nóttina og flutti með sér Björn son sinn fjögurra vetra gamlan til Bláskeggsár."
