No trip to Iceland is complete until you’ve experienced the south coast, which allows you to experience all the must-see sights in one stunning day. This private day tour ensures a personalized and intimate exploration of Iceland’s most iconic locations.

The day begins at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where in summer, you can walk behind the cascading water for a unique perspective. Next, we head to the thunderous Skógafoss waterfall, renowned for its powerful flow and majestic beauty.

One of the highlights of the tour is the visit to the town of Vík for the Icelandic Lava Show. Here, you'll feel the intense heat of re-melted lava rocks being poured over ice just meters from your seat. This educational indoor show provides fascinating insights into the 1918 Katla Eruption and the harrowing experiences of the locals during this tumultuous period in history.

As we journey back towards Reykjavík, we’ll stop at the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, famous for its angular basalt columns and dramatic waves. The final highlight of the day is the Sólheimajökull glacier. You'll enjoy an easy valley walk to the glacier's edge, learning about its journey through the centuries and capturing incredible photographs of this natural wonder.

Warm clothes and waterproof outer layers are important, especially in winter, but it can get chilly at any time of year in Iceland. If you prefer Hidden Iceland to provide thin waterproof outer layers and boots for you, free of charge, get in touch ahead of the tour with rough sizes.

This tour is categorised as easy and can be amended to reduce any longer walking sections or uneven terrain, such as on the Sólheimajökull glacier valley walk. Ability to walk for a few hundred metres with good mobility of knees and ankles will enhance your enjoyment of the day.
