Systrastapi stands just west of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The place name is tied to the nunnery founded at Kirkjubær in 1186, and local folklore says two nuns were buried on the hill after being executed for breaking religious rules. The hill can be climbed, with broad views over the surrounding landscape.
