Munaðartunga

民話

物語と民話

Munaðartunga, meaning 'tongue of wealth' or 'prosperous tongue,' implies a fertile and valuable piece of land. In the context of the sagas, such places were highly coveted and often the subject of disputes and epic narratives. This land would have been crucial for agriculture and animal husbandry, representing the sustenance and prosperity of a family or community. A Munaðartunga in a saga might be a central element of a protagonist's inheritance, a reason for conflict, or a place where peace and abundance were finally achieved.
