Granni stands close to Háifoss in the Fossá river system of Þjórsárdalur. The two waterfalls create one of the area's most striking canyon views, with Granni providing a narrower companion fall beside the much taller Háifoss. The canyon rim is exposed, so visitors should use established viewpoints and remain well back from steep edges.
