グリーラ、ユールラッズとユールキャット

In the depths of Icelandic winter, a chilling tale unfolds concerning Grýla, the monstrous ogress who dwells in the mountains. She is the mother of the thirteen Yule Lads, mischievous and often terrifying beings who descend upon villages in the days leading up to Christmas. Each Lad has his own peculiar brand of mischief, from stealing candles to slamming doors.

But the true terror for many was Grýla's companion: the Yule Cat. This colossal feline was no cuddly creature. It was said to prowl the snowy landscapes, a hungry beast that would devour anyone who hadn't received new clothes by Christmas Eve. The threat of the Yule Cat was a powerful incentive for hard work and a stark reminder of the harsh realities of life in a bygone era.
