🐉 The Ridge Above the Fjord
Ærfjallshöfuð rises along the eastern highlands of Eyjafjörður, forming part of the long mountain ridge that overlooks the farms and valleys of Eyjafjarðarsveit. For generations, these upland slopes served as seasonal grazing areas and natural travel routes between neighboring valleys. From its crest, the landscape opens widely across the fjord toward Akureyri and the surrounding mountain ranges, making the ridge a quiet but important landmark in the local countryside.
