🐉 The Highland Ridge Above Eyjafjörður
Ærfjallshöfuð forms part of the long mountain ridge rising above the eastern side of Eyjafjörður. For generations, farmers in Eyjafjarðarsveit guided livestock across these upland slopes during the summer grazing season. The ridge also served as a natural landmark for travel between neighboring valleys, offering wide views across the fjord toward Akureyri and the surrounding mountains of North Iceland.
